Celebrity to watch: Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde
In the year 2013, highly talented and much-loved Omotola Jalade- Ekeinde, became a global brand. Her most outstanding feat in 2013 was being named among the elite TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World.
And like a true celebrity who has the interests of her fans at heart, she spoke out against social injustices throughout the year, speaking out against oil spillage, the ASUU strike that kept students out of the universities for half the year, the controversial Child Marriage Bill and so on.
She was also on the cover of the UK’s Sunday Telegraph Stella Magazine and also acted alongside American superstar, Akon, in a TV show broadcast in America.
Her reality show, Omotola: The Real Me, was adjudged the most popular TV series across Africa.
She was also listed among the 100 Most Influential Africans.
Omotola definitely made waves in the year 2013.
